About the Rappel Maui Tour

What is rappelling? It's a practice used in the outdoor adventure sport of canyoning to explore vertical terrain using fixed or anchored ropes and other equipment. It's often used by climbers looking for a quick and safe way to descend a route. We've modified the sport to make an exciting and eco-friendly way to enjoy the tropical rain forest of East Maui. The Classic Tour includes three rappels.

Where the Rappel Maui Tour Takes Place

You'll learn to walk down walls of water and rock on Maui, in one of the more remote locations on the eastern section of the island. You'll meet your guides at the activity site on the Road to Hana Highway, approximately 26 miles (1 hour) from Kahului and 50 miles (1.5 hours) from Lahaina.

No previous climbing, canyoning or rappelling experience is necessary. Beginners welcome. We'll provide all your gear (including footwear), snacks and bottled water. You'll discover a private rainforest canyon with waterfalls and lush forest trails. The intimate location makes for Maui's most exclusive and private outdoor tour. Make memories of a lifetime. You can do this!

About The Team

Rappel Maui's roots go back to 2007, when a trio of outdoor enthusiasts saw the unique offerings the East Maui rainforest brought to visitors and locals with an appreciation for nature and adventure. Since its founding, the Rappel Maui team has witnessed a cascade of changes to the island of Maui and its activities, but the mission is rock-solid: To bring guests the most memorable, exciting and unique nature experience on Maui, while respecting the 'aina (land) and putting safety first.
